Situated between Perth and Dundee, Bardmony House overlooks the flood plain of the Strathmore Valley. To the south of the house, we have the gently rolling Sidlaw Hills; to the north, the dramatic peaks of the Cairngorms. This means we sit on the very edge of the Scottish Highlands, a place internationally famous for its beauty and wildness.
Chris and I go for walks nearly every morning. When you live in a place as beautiful as the Strathmore Valley, it would be a crying shame to miss a chance to take in the views. We often see wild animals (deer, roe deer, hare, red squirrels, heron, and buzzards, to name a few), as well as the neighbour’s cattle and sheep. It is a great start to any day, and gives us a chance to chat and center before we start a day.
This morning, we woke up to a misty day – these are some of my favourite here. Just look at it.

I think it’s fair to call that moody.

Yep. Moody. And oh so magical.
It’s supposed to rain all afternoon. I love these kinds of days. They are absolutely made for sitting down in front of our fire with a hot cup of tea and watching the world go by.
So, that’s what we’ll be doing the rest of the day. 🙂
Sounds perfect!
